Won't cause galvanic corrosion.Protects and prevents corrosion on underwater metals
TotalBoat Outdrive AF Aerosol Spray has a unique, copper-free formula that won’t cause galvanic corrosion, and coats the surface to prevent crevice corrosion on underwater metal parts, such as propellers, bow thruster props, through-hulls, trim stabs, struts, and shafts. Very important: Do not paint your zincs and other sacrificial anodes, which serve to prevent galvanic corrosion from destroying underwater metal parts.
High-performance, full-season barnacle barrier for props and underwater metals
This easy-to-use spray paint contains zinc oxide, which serves as a reliable barnacle barrier for boats that are used frequently. Props, trim tabs, and other underwater metal parts coated with Outdrive AF Aerosol Spray will self-clean in service. Apply at least 2 coats, waiting 3-12 hours between coats, depending on temperature. The effectiveness and durability of Outdrive AF Aerosol will be greater the more coats you apply.
An epoxy primer makes TotalBoat Outdrive AF Prop Spray more effective
Priming reduces surface porosity and gives this protective paint a solid surface to adhere to, so it sticks better and lasts longer. Epoxy primer is recommended because it provides superior adhesion and corrosion protection. For best results, prep bare aluminum surfaces with TotalBoat Aluminum Boat Etch Wash, then prime with TotalBoat Aluminum Boat Barrier Coat. For all other underwater metals, prime with TotalBoat TotalProtect Epoxy Barrier Coat and Primer before applying TotalBoat Outdrive AF Aerosol.
