IMPORTANT: All epoxy-based products for which this product is designed to be a thinner/reducer must go through an induction period prior to adding this product. The induction period is specified on the epoxy-based product, and varies from product to product.

What is Thinner 200 used for?
Epoxy Primer Thinner 200 is used as a thinner for 2-part epoxies like TotalProtect, Aluminum Boat Barrier Coat, and 2-Part Epoxy Primer systems (surfacing, high-build, and clear). It is also used as a pre-paint surface prep solvent for inflatable boats, and to clean painting equipment. Thinner 200 should only be used with those specified TotalBoat products. -
How do I use Thinner 200?
Mix Thinner 200 with either TotalProtect, Aluminum Barrier Coat, or 2-Part Epoxy Primers to reduce the viscosity. Be sure to mix it slowly and carefully to avoid spillage. Then apply with a brush, roller, or spray. Refer to the Technical Data Sheet for additional information. -
How do I use Thinner 200 to prep an inflatable boat for paint?
Dampen a clean cotton rag with Epoxy Primer Thinner 200 and thoroughly wipe the surface. Follow this step by wiping with a dry and clean cotton rag, then apply the paint as instructed. -
Can it be used to clean painting tools and supplies?
Yes. Primer Thinner 200 can be used to clean painting equipment and tools. It can also be used as a solvent wipe to remove surface contamination before applying TotalBoat Inflatable Boat Paint. -
What else should I know before using Epoxy Primer Thinner 200?
All epoxy products need to go through an induction period, as specified on the product. For most, the maximum amount of thinner that can be added is 10%, unless a product’s instructions specify otherwise.
